Just a few frames from this fantastic event and a little to let you know what was raised and where it’s going…..

The Edinburgh Academy has a vibrant Charities Committee which each year raises many thousands of pounds for its nominated charities. This year, we were delighted to support the Scottish Association for Children with Heart Disorders, the Edinburgh Sick Kids Foundation and the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust particularly as all of these have helped some of our pupils at one time or another.

Our fund raising activities this year have been many and varied. They included: Own Clothes Days when pupils come to school out of uniform for a donation of £2, frugal lunches when the traditional three course lunch is replaced by soup and a sandwich, collections at concerts and plays, and a Christmas Fair. The highlight of the year was a spectacular fashion show held at the end of April. This began with a canapé reception followed by the show itself during which senior pupils modelled top designer clothes in front of an audience several hundred. This event alone raised £3000. To date, we have raised over £13,500 this academic year made possible by the generosity of the students, staff, parents friends and supporters of the Edinburgh Academy.

We know that the money that we raise will make a huge difference to the lives of many children and so are delighted that we have been able to make a contribution to these very worthwhile causes.

What a fantastic service. I was having a problem with the firewire 800 cable, my unit is out of warranty  but I still thought I would give them a call. I phoned Germany on the Monday and the new unit arrived in Scotland on the Wednesday.

Over the past few months we have been working on images for the new Visit West Lothian website…. Nearly there and should be launched in the next few weeks.

This is a set of still photographs that I took for The RBS Excellence awards. We took over 3000 shots in a day it was a blast.
